The church began collecting and storing food in a closet so they could distribute food items here and there to those who came seeking help. Their goal was to be able to provide a few meals each month to families in need.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"color_11 wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003eAs the Lake Stevens community grew, so too did the need for food assistance. In 1983, Lake Stevens Community Food Bank was formally organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
